Volunteer of the Year

All our volunteers deserve praise and sincere thanks for their continued unselfish deeds and enthusiasm.

Since 1982, the combined efforts of all of our volunteers have provided needed funding for numerous, quality, special events and programs held at both Rio Rancho public libraries for community members of all ages.

Volunteers’ efforts enabled Friends to contribute $150,000 towards the 2007 opening of the Loma Colorado Main Library and the 2008 reopening of the renovated Esther Bone Memorial Library.

With no paid staff, Friends only exists because of the loyalty, dedication, and efforts of each and every volunteer. Mindful of this, each year the Board of Directors singles out an individual, or couple, who contributed their efforts unwaveringly. The giving of this award is done in a manner to surprise the unsuspecting recipient. The award is presented during the Annual Membership Meeting & Volunteer Luncheon that is held in April.
