Bookstore Purchase Policy

Friends prices books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, and other items sold in our stores based upon numerous criteria.

All prices marked on the items or quoted by our volunteers in our stores are not negotiable.

All sales are final.

We do not warranty or guarantee the contents of any aforementioned items. These were received as gifts, as donations, to Friends. The vast majority of these donations were previously used, although gently used. The volume of said donations makes it impractical, if not impossible, for our volunteers to review every donated item. We do, however, strive to accurately assess the outward appearance of every item before an item is placed in either of our stores.

The buyer takes full responsibility for her/his choice and purchase.

All sales are final.

Coupon Policy

Since February 2010, FOLRR occasionally offers a sale-specific coupon. These coupons have appeared in the Rio Rancho Observer‘s Sunday and Wednesday editions and in the Daily Lobo.

Beginning November 21, 2010, FOLRR also occasionally offers a sale-specific coupon downloadable from our website.

FOLRR’s downloadable and applicable newspaper coupons are solely honored at and during our monthly and special sales within the Loma Colorado Main Library auditorium. Downloaded coupons have the same conditions and exceptions as the coupons we offer in the Observer, Daily Lobo, or any other publication.

Sale-specific coupons usually can be redeemed for one free sale book per person during the actual event. Exceptions include, but are not limited to, our bookbags, holiday books, holiday items, our Friends of the Library cookbooks, any items we might offer on consignment, items that we believe are not our property, items that we believe we did not or did not intentionally place in the sale, and items in either of our bookstores.

If you have any questions or concerns about our coupons, please use this form to contact us.

Donation Policy

Friends of the Library of Rio Rancho, Inc. endorses the “Donor Bill of Rights” created by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Non-Profits.

Friends of the Library of Rio Rancho, Inc. also reserves the right to refuse or to return a donation for any reason including, but not limited to, a belief that the donation is illegal, a conflict of interest, an appearance of a conflict of interest, contrary to the mission and/or purpose of Friends, and or contrary to Friends’ nonprofit exemption status.

If Friends declines a donation (financial, physical item, and or promised financial support), the donated item(s) will be returned along with an official letter from Friends’ board of directors. Said letter will contain the reason(s) Friends’ board declined the offered donation and, if appropriate, a thank-you for the attempted donation. The decision of Friends’ board of directors is final. The donor, or would-be donor, shall have no recourse.

Monthly Book Sale Purchase Policy

FOLRR and our volunteers use numerous criteria for pricing the books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, and other items that we offer for sale at our monthly book sales. Sale prices are separate from, independent of, and usually lower (but are not guaranteed to be lower) than the prices of the same or similar items we sell in our Friends’ Shop, which is also located within the Loma Colorado Main Library.

These second-Saturday-of-the-month sales, and similar special sales, are held only within the auditorium in Loma Colorado Main Library.

Items that FOLRR has for sale in this auditorium must be paid for in this auditorium, before the person who desires the item(s) leaves the auditorium.

FOLRR will not honor requests for the sale, or a sale price, of any item FOLRR:

  1. did not intentionally select for sale in the book sale prior to the book sale; or
  2. realizes is not the property of FOLRR; or
  3. realizes has been mistakenly, illicitly, or intentionally removed from our Friends’ Shop, or from other areas used by FOLRR, in an attempt to purchase the item(s) at a lower price in our book sale.

Prices are not negotiable.

FOLRR does not warranty nor guarantee the contents of any aforementioned items. These were received as gifts, as donations, to FOLRR. The vast majority of these donations were previously, although gently, used. The volume of said donations makes it impractical, if not impossible, for our volunteers to review every donated item. We do, however, strive to accurately assess the outward appearance of every item before an item is placed for sale in our monthly or special sales or in either of our stores.

FOLRR does not purchase or trade items.

The buyer takes full responsibility for her/his choice and purchase.

All sales are final.
