Thank you for supporting quality programs and literacy!

The summer-reading program for kids, teens and adults is starting. This year the Friends have funded over $13,700 in programs, prizes, performers and speakers for summer reading.

A few new grants that the Friends funded this month:

  • Additional supplies for “1000 Books Before Kindergarten”.  It has been more popular than expected and the additional funds will allow the Libraries to continue to sign up families through the fall.
  • Supplies and refreshments for the Harry Potter Birthday party. We expect about 100 kids and families to participate.
  • A jazz duo to play music for dancing and listening at an after-hours event for adults. There will also be an artist teaching watercolor plus drinks and snacks.
  • Award-winning Corrales chef and author Jane Butel will teach a class in August. The program on local cuisine will include demonstrations and tastings.
