Donation Policy
Friends of the Library of Rio Rancho, Inc. endorses the “Donor Bill of Rights” created by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Non-Profits.
The Friends of the Library of Rio Rancho, Inc. also reserves the right to refuse or return a donation for any reason including, but not limited to, a belief that the donation is illegal, a conflict of interest, appears as a conflict of interest, contrary to the mission and/or purpose of the Friends, and or is contrary to the Friends’ nonprofit exemption status.
If the Friends declines a donation (financial, physical item, and or promised financial support), the donated item(s) will be returned along with an official letter from the Friends’ board of directors. Said letter will contain the reason(s) the Friends’ board declined the offered donation and, if appropriate, a thank-you for the attempted donation. The decision of the Friends’ board of directors is final. The donor, or would-be donor, shall have no recourse.
